AI Can Write in Seconds. But Can It Say Something Worth Remembering?
Imagine asking AI:
“Write a blog about digital marketing.”
Within seconds, you have an article.
Now imagine asking a digital marketer:
“Tell me what you actually learned while building your first digital marketing portfolio.”
That answer could contain something AI can’t automatically manufacture:
personal experience.
And that’s where the human side of content becomes interesting.
AI Has Changed Content Creation
AI can be incredibly useful.
It can help marketers:
- Brainstorm ideas
- Create outlines
- Improve grammar
- Organize research
- Repurpose content
- Generate variations
- Speed up repetitive work
That makes AI a powerful tool.
But a tool doesn’t automatically create a strong strategy.
The Problem With “One-Click Content”
Imagine 100 websites using AI to write articles about:
“10 Digital Marketing Tips for Beginners.”
If every article says:
- Know your audience
- Use social media
- Create quality content
- Track analytics
- Optimize SEO
what makes one article memorable?
Very little.
The problem isn’t necessarily that AI was involved.
The problem is that the content doesn’t bring enough original value.
Google’s guidance says generative AI can be useful for research and structuring original content, but generating large amounts of pages without adding value can violate its spam policies. Google for Developers
Where Human Content Becomes Powerful
Experience
A person can say:
“I tried three homepage layouts before finding one that communicated my services clearly.”
That’s an experience.
Perspective
A marketer can say:
“I initially focused too much on making the website look attractive and not enough on explaining what I actually offer.”
That’s a perspective.
Emotion
A person can describe what it felt like to publish their first professional portfolio.
That’s human context.
Context
A marketer working with a Kerala-based small business can understand cultural, local, and audience-specific details that a generic prompt may not provide.
These elements can make content feel specific rather than generic.
A Mini Case Study
Imagine two portfolio blogs about:
“How I Built My Digital Marketing Portfolio”
Version A — AI-only
“A portfolio website is important for digital marketers because it showcases skills, experience, projects, and achievements.”
Correct.
But generic.
Version B — Human-led
“When I started building my portfolio, I didn’t want it to look like a list of skills. I wanted someone visiting the website to understand how I think as a digital marketer.”
Now the reader gets:
A goal + a person + a perspective.
That’s the difference.
So Should We Stop Using AI?
No.
I don’t think the future of content needs to be:
Human vs AI.
It can be:
Human + AI
Here’s the workflow I’d use:
STEP 1 — HUMAN
Choose the topic and understand the audience.
↓
STEP 2 — AI
Brainstorm ideas and create an initial structure.
↓
STEP 3 — HUMAN
Add experience, examples, opinions, research, and original insights.
↓
STEP 4 — AI
Help improve structure, grammar, and clarity.
↓
STEP 5 — HUMAN
Fact-check everything and make the final decisions.
That’s a much more interesting relationship with AI.
The Content Formula I Like
AI gives you speed.
Research gives you accuracy.
Experience gives you depth.
Creativity gives you personality.
Human judgment gives you the final voice.
Put them together and you have something much more valuable than simply generating text.
My Perspective as a Digital Marketer
As someone learning digital marketing, I’m realizing that the ability to produce content is becoming easier.
The harder skill is deciding:
What should I say?
Why should I say it?
Who needs to hear it?
What can I add that isn’t already everywhere?
That’s where strategy becomes important.
When everyone can create content, originality becomes part of the strategy.
AI can help me create faster.
But my experiences, ideas, observations, and decisions are what make the final piece mine.
The Future Isn’t Human OR AI
It’s human creativity supported by intelligent tools.
The marketers who understand both sides can use AI for efficiency while still protecting the qualities that make content useful:
Originality.
Accuracy.
Experience.
Context.
Personality.
Purpose.
And that’s the kind of content I want to create.
